Crispy… Simple… Delicious. Everyone needs to eat a Guacamole Wonton!
What can I say? I love Guac, and I like crispy… So what is not to love when you put them together?
I do love guacamole in a bowl with chips, but SOMETIMES I need to break it up, shake it up, and eat something just a little bit different.
These guacamole wontons are a great appetizer, snack or a meal – and a really delicious one at that!
Best of all, they are so easy to make and ready to plate in no time at all.
I love the creamy, buttery, earthy avocado, but I tell you what. I bet I am not the only one that buys avocados and then finds the last one a bit overripe on the counter when I go to use it. Ugh.
Did you know you can freeze your avocados? Yes. Genius… especially for those of us who do not use this amazing fruit when we are “supposed to”.
Simply cut them in half, peel, wrap in a paper towel, put in a ziplock bag, get as much air out as possible, seal, and freeze. Thaw them before using for your favorite guacamole!
I keep my guacamole easy – avocado, diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, a bit of jalapeno, lime juice, salt & pepper, and garlic. I mash my avocado with a fork – I like my guac a little chunky with lots of cilantro!
Whatever your favorite guacamole recipe is – putting it in wontons, adding a little cotija cheese and frying them up is the BOMB!
Do not take my word for it… try these incredible little gems!
And… do not forget a good salsa to dunk & dip them in! I like Burns & McCoy Hatch Green Chile Salsa, made here in Colorado. Yum. Try and get your hands on a jar!
Enjoy!
